City Lights

I’m all alone inside the night
I’m trapped between the city lights
small glowing cages of loneliness
the streets that seem to never end
the cars that swallowed green, green grass
huge, pricey stores of metal and glass
things that I can live without
and no-one who could help me out

At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible

I turn around and disappear
among the shapes of night and fear
I’m walking quickly not to hear
the screams behind my back, so near
don’t want to see those people fight
I’m scared of darkness and of light
don’t want to see, don’t want to hear
and all I feel is panic fear

At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible

The concrete jungle, glass and steel
where money rules and money kills
you’d better watch and stay awake
otherwise you’ll never see the day

At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible
At night city lights make the stars invisible (don’t go out don’t turn off the light better stay at home and watch the fight)
At night city lights make the stars invisible
